||"Some of the earliest memories I have are the stories my dad told many of them related to the American chestnut. During my career with the Forest Service, I have heard many Appalachian old-timers talk with sadness about the passing of the chestnut. If my dad were alive today, he would belong to The American Chestnut Foundation."
